A Little About Me

My Practice
My approach to sessions is rooted in a collaborative and client-centered philosophy. I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions. I believe in the importance of tailoring therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual, drawing from various evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic. Core values that guide my work include: Empathy: Building genuine understanding and trust with clients. Respect: Honoring each client’s experiences, individuality, and pace of growth. Empowerment: Helping clients recognize their own strengths and potential for change. Collaboration: Partnering with clients to set goals and co-create solutions. Authenticity: Bringing my true self to each session and encouraging clients to do the same.
What I'm Like
As a practitioner, my style is primarily collaborative and adaptable. I believe that therapy works best when it’s a partnership, where we work together to explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns. My role is to guide and support, but I encourage clients to take an active role in their own journey. I strike a balance between being reflective and engaging in light-heartedness when appropriate. While I take the therapeutic process seriously and understand the weight of the issues being discussed, I also believe that incorporating humor—when fitting—can help ease tension and foster deeper connection. It can be a way to shift perspective or offer relief in heavy moments. In terms of being directive, I’m more focused on guiding clients to their own insights rather than telling them what to do. However, when clients need structure or clear guidance—especially during moments of overwhelm—I can be more directive, offering strategies, tools, or gentle nudges. Ultimately, my personality in sessions is warm.

What Can You Expect From My Sessions

Clients can expect a balance of structure and fluidity in my sessions, depending on their needs and preferences. Early on, we’ll collaborate to set clear goals based on the issues they want to address, whether it’s working through anxiety, improving relationships, or fostering personal growth. While I believe in working toward specific outcomes, the journey to those goals can be quite flexible and open to exploration. Here’s what clients can anticipate: - Engagement & Reflection: I engage with clients by actively listening, asking thoughtful questions, and offering reflections that help them dig deeper into their experiences. I use empathy and validation to build a safe space, where clients feel comfortable exploring both surface-level and deeper emotional issues. - Balance of Structure & Exploration: If a client prefers more structure, I can guide sessions with tools like CBT worksheets. For those who prefer a more explorative approach, sessions can be more open-ended, allowing space to delve into whatever feelings or thoughts emerge in the moment. - Active Collaboration: Clients can expect me to check in regularly about the process—what’s working, what’s not, and where they’d like to focus next. I view therapy as a co-creative space where feedback and collaboration are key. - Gentle Challenge & Support: I create an environment that’s both supportive and gently challenging, encouraging clients to step outside their comfort zones when necessary but at a pace that feels manageable for them. The flow of our sessions is designed to be dynamic and responsive to what the client needs, offering both the security of a plan and the freedom to explore new insights.
